About the contest

The National Literary Award For Young Writers is a literary contest for Czech young writers in English, which has been taking place in the Czech Republic since 2007 (previously as The IMPAC Czech Young Writers Award). Since 2014 the competition is organised by nonprofit organisation GLOSSOLI z.s.

Categories:

– A –12 years of age and under
– B – 13-15 years of age
– C – 16-17 years of age
– D – 18-19 years of age

The contest is open only to non-native English speakers living in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The contestants are to submit a short story in English of a maximum length of 1500 words, related to the topic.

The winners of the individual categories will obtain an attractive financial reward.
The overall winner will be awarded a three-day trip to Edinburgh, Scotland.
